How the best managers can STOP doing everything themselves
Let's break it down
Hey team,
If you’re spending more time fixing problems than actually leading, this story will resonate…
Like the majority of managers I speak to, Esteban thought being a good manager meant stepping in to help his team. He told me:
When something wasn’t quite right, he fixed it.
When someone struggled, he stayed close and avoideded telling them the hard truths.
Esteban is all of us. Hey, Esteban 👋
At first, it worked. Things moved quickly and tasks were ticked off.
But over time, his team started relying on him for EVERYTHING, then naturally, work kept landing back on his desk and he was drowning (been there).
He believed that pushing back would damage relationships, so he avoided difficult conversations and just did everything himself.
Then, Fresh Start challenged that belief and taught Esteban something very important that stuck with him…
The art of powerful delegation, and what we avoid today shows up bigger tomorrow.
Over the six weeks, things began to change, he told me:
He stepped in less.
Trusted his team more.
Moved from fixing problems to setting direction.
Fresh Start gave Esteban the structure and confidence to lead in a way that actually worked, for him and his team.

The leadership lesson for us all
If you’re:
doing too much yourself
avoiding conversations that keep resurfacing
feeling lost and deflated in your leadership role
Stop avoiding the hard stuff today. Lean into those conversations, delegate with purpose (even if you’re fearful it won’t get done as well as you).
If nothing changes, this pattern usually doesn’t resolve itself. It just quietly turns into burnout, resentment, or another year of “I’ll deal with it later.”
And the’s exactly what Fresh Start is built for.
You’re not broken, you just need the right support, frameworks and space to rethink how you lead.
Cohort 5 opens for enrollment on Tuesday 17th Feb, with just 150 places.
If Esteban’s story felt uncomfortably familiar, this is where that pattern stops:

Hard conversations! I learned the hard way, quickly, that avoiding them was the worst thing I could do as a manager. Like Esteban, I used to do some of their work because it was quick and easy, but it served no one in the end. Now, I have learned to delegate better, and I address concerns immediately. By the way, how much is the cohort, I’m interested!
I’m very interested in taking this course as a business owner leading a small team. Can you share anything about the pricing already? I couldn’t seem to find it on the website.
